Dr. Dan Rector is the Executive Director of The Reunification Foundation and a nationally recognized Crisis Management leader with over 20 years of experience in emergency preparedness, training, and organizational resilience. While serving as Director of Training, Education, and Emergency Planning for the “I Love U Guys” Foundation, Dr. Dan designed and delivered crisis training programs on a global scale. His hands-on experience spans real-world incident response with the U.S. Coast Guard and the Connecticut Army National Guard, where he was a member of the Weapons of Mass Destruction – Civil Support Team. Through The Reunification Foundation, Dr. Rector leads applied research on student reunification, making it one of the only organizations in the world dedicated to advancing the evidence base in this critical and often overlooked area of school safety. As a trusted consultant to towns and school districts, Dr. Rector brings deep operational expertise and a practitioner’s perspective to the critical topic of student reunification, helping communities strengthen their plans and protocols when it matters most.
