1

Assess

We meet with you before scheduling any event to get an idea of your current situation. No organization or town is the same, so this training must be conducted with your community in mind.

2

Recommend

We then propose a training program based on our Crawl, Walk, Run, Refresh Methodology. We will recommend a training program that meets you where you are and prepares you to get where you want to be.

3

Support

We work with you before the event, during the training planning process, and after. We want to ensure that you are set up for success and ready to utilize your reunification capability on your own.

Crawl, Walk, Run, Refresh Methodology

The Crawl, Walk, Run, Refresh Methodology is our proprietary training method.
It ensures teams are trained in a structured, well-thought-out approach that maximizes understanding, information retention, and skill development.

Crawl Phase

In the crawl phase, you learn about the reunification process, develop your reunification plan, acquire your reunification supplies, train your team on their roles, and familiarize your team with your reunification materials.

In this phase, you should also:

  • Meet with all local stakeholders to develop a reunification planning team
  • Finalize both a primary and secondary reunification site
  • Review and finalize transportation and traffic plans
  • Develop notification and communication procedures

Crawl Phase Training Options

The 1/2 Day Reunification Training Workshop combines our reunification training presentation, our tabletop training exercise, and other elements into a comprehensive reunification training event.

The day starts with the reunification training presentation, where attendees will learn about the entire reunification process, how it integrates within the incident command system, and their roles and responsibilities.

Following the presentation, attendees will conduct an in-class walk-through of the reunification process. Each step of the process will be discussed and shown in detail.

Finally, the group will participate in a tabletop training exercise to discuss actions and appropriate steps while a scenario unfolds. Attendees will use their organization’s reunification plan as a basis for the exercise, and it will guide their decisions.

Following the exercise, our trainers will facilitate an after-action review (AAR) to capture lessons learned and areas for improvement.
