Patricia is an experienced clinician, program, and project manager with over 35 years of pediatric and neonatal critical care and ambulatory experience across various roles, including faculty positions, medical relief work in Ecuador and Vietnam, staff development, patient care, quality improvement, patient safety, and advanced practice nursing.
She is a passionate advocate for improving emergency and disaster medical care for infants, children, and pregnant women through collaboration. She is the current President and Executive Director of the National Pediatric Disaster Coalition, a 501(c)(3) private foundation that connects diverse individuals, families, communities, and disciplines to evidence-based information and training.
She is a subject matter expert for several agencies and groups in the field of emergency medicine for children, including the Children Innovation and Improvement Center, ASPR TRACIE, ASPR Pediatric Disaster Centers of Excellence, and Pediatric Pandemic Network.
Patricia is an adjunct faculty member in the Pediatric Disaster Medicine (PDM) Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, Teaching Hospital Division of Disaster Medicine. She is also an instructor for the MGT-439: Pediatric Disaster Response and Emergency Preparedness course at the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (NERRTC).
